AI Applications in Mathematics: Enablers of Learning

Students vary in their understanding of mathematics learning outcomes, posing challenges for teachers in achieving their objectives. Addressing these student disparities is crucial to ensuring everyone has equal learning opportunities. Educational studies indicate the profound impact of mathematics teaching strategies on student performance; the more effective the strategy, the better the students perform. 

This workshop covers foundational strategies to support this understanding, focusing on exploring and analyzing pedagogical content knowledge, conceptual reconstruction and the use of emerging AI applications. These applications empower teachers to incorporate AI into their preferred mathematics teaching strategies, whether in curriculum design or planning, to enhance students’ ability to comprehend, conceptualize, analyze and reproduce knowledge effectively.
