In our rapidly changing, tech-advanced world, learning and teaching challenges are continually evolving. Preparing students for an unknown future requires equipping them with comprehensive skills that can be incorporated across various fields.
Integrating the STEAM methodology into Arabic lessons and combining them with scientific concepts through reading texts has become increasingly important. Analytical studies indicate that future professions are closely related to engineering, which involves building models to address life challenges and design solutions. Consequently, science education must enable teachers to prepare their students in a way that stimulates innovative thinking to address potential future challenges. Since the Arabic language is fundamental at this stage, this methodology aims to spark early childhood children’s curiosity to read scientific stories, understand the included concepts and practically apply some of the mentioned skills, thereby enhancing their critical and creative thinking.
This workshop highlights the importance of incorporating the STEAM methodology into Arabic language subjects for early grades. It aims to introduce the methodology in early childhood, explore the stages of applying this methodology to children by reading Arabic texts and provide practical applications for both parents at home and teachers at school. Using scientific stories, the workshop will cover the essential skills teachers and students must possess when applying the STEAM methodology and the importance of integrating it at this stage.
