By admin, 21 August, 2024

Modern pedagogical trends, rooted in constructivist theories, have transformed pedagogical assessment. Emphasis has shifted from solely delivering instructional content to supporting students’ learning processes through formative assessment, which encompasses various contents, concepts and dimensions. Assessment, in all its forms and methods, is no longer separate from the teaching process but rather integral to it, supporting student learning by providing feedback to teachers and students to enhance the overall teaching and learning processes.

This workshop offers early-grade teachers a valuable opportunity to develop their assessment skills and understand how to use assessment as a tool to enhance student learning. It includes a comprehensive introduction to various types of assessments suitable for early grades, such as diagnostic, formative and summative assessments. It also reviews best practices in designing and implementing assessment activities. Additionally, the workshop covers the basics of analyzing assessment data and using it to identify student needs and guide instruction effectively. The workshop is interactive, with opportunities for participation and engagement with colleagues, and provides time to apply concepts in the actual classroom. The goal is to equip teachers with the necessary tools and knowledge to improve assessment processes and enhance their students’ learning experiences in the future.
This workshop aims at granting a deeper understanding of the importance of assessment in improving the learning process and its role in supporting student growth, developing the ability to design and implement appropriate and effective assessment activities for early grades, acquiring assessment data analysis skills to identify student needs and guide the educational process, enhancing the ability of teachers to provide students with guidance and feedback in a suitable and motivating manner and building confidence in using assessment as an effective tool to enhance the learning experience and improve student performance.
