Inquiry-Based Learning in Early Grades

By admin, 21 August, 2024

Inquiry-based learning, grounded in John Dewey’s philosophy that “education begins with the curiosity of the learner”, is recognized as one of the best teaching practices for educators. It helps transform classrooms into dynamic learning environments focused on active student learning, making students responsible for their own learning.

This workshop aims to empower early-grade teachers to plan, design and implement inquiry-based learning activities. By engaging teachers in practical activities, it raises their awareness of the importance of inquiry in the educational process.
During the training, various interactive learning methodologies and activities embodying the principles of inquiry will be applied. These include group work, problem-based and investigative activities, reflection and feedback, questioning, curiosity stimulation, assessment, prediction and interpretation.

This workshop aims to identify the concept of inquiry-based learning, understand the fundamentals of inquiry and its various implementation methods, experience the 5E instructional model to gain comprehensive educational experiences that support inquiry-based learning and plan lessons using inquiry-based learning according to the 5E learning cycle.
