A Journey into the World of Storytelling: Developing Language and Creativity Skills for Kindergarten Children

By admin, 21 August, 2024

Stories constitute the most nourishing and fulfilling food for the mind and soul. They play a vital role in the intellectual and emotional development of children. Besides the tremendous fun children have reading stories, stimulating their imagination and reflection, stories also serve as an important source of information and a means to impart human values and ethics. They are a tool for building and strengthening children’s linguistic abilities, enhancing their awareness and cognitive skills and enriching their cultural knowledge.

This workshop aims to broaden children’s exploration of language and creativity. This is achieved by instilling a love for reading and stories within them and honing their linguistic, social and emotional skills.

This workshop focuses on defining the concept of a story and its importance for kindergarten children, highlighting how stories support their various developmental characteristics. Participants will learn the criteria for selecting kindergarten stories that match children’s needs, interests and developmental levels. Additionally, the workshop will cover alternative storytelling techniques, such as drawing, puppetry, flipcharts, interactive experiences and technology
