Standards-Based Teaching: Mastering Indicators and Demonstrating Outcomes

By admin, 19 August, 2024

Standards-based teaching is an instructional approach that defines what students should learn in each subject through a set of standards. These standards guide teachers in designing curricula and assessing students more effectively.

This approach can be applied to all subjects, including mathematics, science, Arabic and English. It helps students better understand concepts and apply them to problem-solving.

This workshop introduces the foundations, philosophy and methodological principles of standards-based teaching and assessment. It aims to develop teachers’ abilities in standards-based planning and evaluation across various subjects through practical application. This includes analyzing the content of teaching units and relevant learning standards, outcomes and objectives, as well as setting performance indicators for student learning per educational outcome. Additionally, the workshop seeks to enhance teachers’ skills in creating assessment plans and designing tools aligned with standards, enabling teachers to deliver quality education to all students in diverse learning environments
