Educational researchers acknowledge that students in the classroom vary widely in their understanding of learning outcomes, comprehension and skills proficiency. These disparities, diverse in nature and scope, pose a challenge for teachers in achieving their lesson objectives and ensuring all students meet them. Thus, bridging these gaps is critical for every educator, especially those teaching early grades where foundational skills like reading, writing, speaking and listening are emphasized. These basic skills are essential for all areas of learning and cannot be dispensed with in any field of study.
This workshop aims to familiarize participants with the concept of differentiation and its importance in Arabic language instruction. It also equips early-grade teachers with the skills to design learning activities and tasks that cater to the diverse readiness levels, interests, capabilities and abilities of students in the classroom. This enables teachers to achieve the desired learning outcomes for each student. Additionally, the workshop addresses the philosophy of classroom assessment within the framework of differentiated instruction and how it should be appropriately conducted.
