The World Health Organization affirms that mental well-being is an integral and inseparable part of an individual’s health. It contributes to the balance of emotions, thoughts, impressions and relationships, fostering the development of positive behavior patterns.
This workshop seeks to raise participants’ awareness of holistic mental well-being and its relation to an individual’s adaptability to life changes. Participants will explore the concept and dimensions of mental well-being, the PERMA model of holistic well-being and strategies to achieve holistic mental well-being within educational settings.
It also aims to discuss the levels of Maslow’s updated hierarchy of human needs and incorporate them into classroom activities to achieve holistic mental well-being in educational settings. Additionally, the PERMA model will be used to enhance students’ mental well-being in educational environments while developing holistic mental well-being skills through activities such as mindfulness, building positive relationships, finding life purpose and achieving goals in educational settings.
